So, what are the mothers saying?

Mother #1: We
are on board! ____ became excited when I told her you
already found one sponsor. . . That really boosted her confidence.
Thank you so much for your effort on our behalf. It is truly and
greatly appreciated!

That was a nice thing to say. What's important is that this family had a need that could not be served in public school, and Catalyst is there to help. A couple of generous supporters are making it possible for this young lady to attend.

Mother #2: Head's up . . . K.S. was in attendance at our mtg and she raved about
you and your staff. In fact, the entire room that knew you said
things like "Ed is solid, he has great people and does amazing things
with kids". You have quite the reputation!

Well, it certainly helps when we have the best teachers (Julie Polisher, Debra Lund, Shaw Ketels, Melita Gump) and best counselor (Pam Decker) anywhere!

See the blue button below that says "Add a Comment?" I would appreciate hearing from you.

Ed
What's Being Printed in the Paper, and What People Are Saying

Hey folks,

On Friday the Daily Camera ran the 15-Second Pitch on me and Catalyst EDU. I have received some criticism that the brief article is too generic, that people may not understand that Catalyst EDU an excellent school for teens who are really struggling in school.

That link is http://dailycamera.com/news/2008/jan/18/no-headline---18bsec/

The VERY NEXT DAY, the Camera ran the Nonprofit Spotlight on "Catalyst Education of Colorado." If you never opened the paper that day, the link to that article is below.

Almost without exception, people have told me: "Wow! I saw your story in the paper, and it was excellent."

At the bottom of this blog page, there is a button for "Add a Comment." I want to know what you think!

Also, please forward the link to friends. I want to know if they think a school like Catalyst is really needed!

Ed

http://dailycamera.com/news/2008/jan/18/catalyst-education-of-colorado/

Welcome to Ed Porritt's Blog

In the fall of 2007, Catalyst EDU will open its doors in Lafayette, Colorado, ultimately serving up to 75 students identified as at-risk for dropping out of high school due to personal, social, physical, emotional,or mental health issues.
