Welcome to Ed Porritt's Blog

In the fall of 2007, Catalyst EDU will open its doors in Lafayette, Colorado, ultimately serving up to 75 students identified as at-risk for dropping out of high school due to personal, social, physical, emotional,or mental health issues.

Created to be the affordable academic home for struggling teens seeking a meaningful alternative education, Catalyst provides a nurturing and challenging educational community where at-risk high school-aged students can emerge from personal crisis, gain control of their decisions and actions, develop resiliency and confidence, and complete high school as responsible, curious young adults with solid academic and social skills.

In my blog, I will keep you all up to date with news of Catalyst's progress and any breaking news. If you have a student who would be interested in the innovative educational philosophy we offer at catalyst, please give us a call and set up a visit to our campus. (303) 818-4652. We're located at 2575 Park Lane, Suite 100, near the intersection of 95th and Arapahoe in Lafayette.

I look forward to keeping in touch with the Catalyst community in this blog.

I personally thank Ed for his contributions to my family, other families, and to the community. He worked miracles at Chinook, and I know he will do the same at Catalyst. Ed has clearly made personal sacrifices in order to be able to open Catalyst and help the students who attend. THANK YOU, ED!

Catalyst fills a void for students who want to continue high school in an alternative setting. With a very small class size, students get the personal attention they need. I look forward to watching Catalyst grow and succeed.
